We heard Max talking some pretty big game, something about being ‘the very first adoption profile’; the joke is on him, we can’t read and neither can he, so we’re not sure what the big deal is. Anyway, I guess we can ‘settle’ for being the face of the rescue. We’re the first cats that Cheery Cat Rescue took in and we have the stickers to prove it.

That’s enough dunking on our elders, we’re Cricket and Ladybug, A dynamic duo, a pair of love bugs, whatever you want to call us you’ll have to do it in twos; we are bonded and so together we shall stay.

Of the two of us, Cricket is always the first to jump in. She’s the bold one, the adventurer, bravest of the cuddlebugs. She enjoys a tumble and a snooze, a sunbeam and her sister; when Ladybug needs her, she always comes running. (Unless she’s, like, really comfy). When you come to visit us in the Palace, Cricket is the one you’re going to meet first unless you’re lucky.

Ladybug has a little more of a shell; she enjoys a wait-and-see approach in contrast to Cricket’s can-do attitude. Underneath the wariness, is a warmth worth the work to unlock, though for the moment she’s less thrilled about being snuggled and carried than her sister (Not hard, Cricket LOVES a cuddle).

We landed in the care of CCR as a pair of owner surrenders; we were Ranch cats originally! Being SO for real with you, inside-cat life is where it is at, but ranch life taught us that it takes all sorts to make a family. We are very good with other cats, though we might be a bit much for a grumpy senior; either way, we’ll count on you to help us make a polite and slow introduction. It’s been a while since we’ve crossed paths with a dog, but again, a careful and patient introduction could see us to be their very best buds. We don’t have much experience with children, but respectful kids and watchful parents would be a match made in heaven. We’re pretty flexible about the whole thing to be honest.

At Cheery, we are enjoying Ziwi Peak dryfood  and Orjien Duck and Chicken wet. We have no dietary restrictions so with time and care, we could absolutely change it up as long as we keep a mix of good quality wet as long as we take it slow and include a helpful probiotic to keep our tummies happy.

They say you can tell the health of a garden by the variety of insects who choose to live there, well, we’re just a couple of bugs looking for a garden. Would you take us home and… whatever you do with bugs who are soft and love you, we don’t actually know. Again, we can’t read.

My name is Max, and I have the honor of being the star of the very first Cheery Rescue Profile. I’m watching carefully to make sure the volunteer ghost-writer gets it all down properly; I like my staff properly trained. 

Some background about me, my sister Ruby and I came into Cherry Cat Rescue’s care when a good samaritan took in our pregnant mother and soon found themselves with more cats than they could handle. But those early weeks in a busy home is good news for you, dear reader. I’m as bombproof as they come; I’m good with cats, I’m great with kids, and while I haven’t met a dog yet, I would gladly take the opportunity.

I come with two modes, ‘Play’ and ‘Cuddle’ and I am very dedicated to my craft. I don’t need to be the center of attention at all times, I am happy to play with a toy or sneak in a wrestling match, but I do deserve to be, and I will happily shadow you about the house to let you know about the show you’re missing. 

You see, I don’t waste a lot of time ‘considering’, Ruby has always been the ‘brains of the outfit’, but by gum, I am a DO-er and I want to be involved in whatever you have going on. I am also an excellent sounding board and am always down for a good chat. Or a bad chat. Spill the tea, Queen, I’m listening. 

Something important to keep in mind is that I will need another young cat wherever I end up. My high energy antics would definitely be a bit too much for an older cat to tackle solo; if you’ve a younger cat at home already I would be thrilled to meet them, or if you need to look at bringing in two of us, my sister Ruby would be an excellent choice. Our playfights are legendarily entertaining. 

I am currently enjoying a diet of Ziwi Peak dryfood and Orjien chicken and duck wet. I have no dietary restrictions so I am open to changing it up, but a slow changeover and some supportive probiotics would really help to smooth the transition.

My name is Ruby, and unlike my brother I’m not in a rush; he might be the first profile up, but mine will be the best. Patience and quality go paw in paw. 

My brother Max and I came into Cheery Cat Rescue’s care after the kind woman who took our mother in discovered that she had been hoodwinked by more cats than she bargained for. Our first few weeks were busy ones, but luckily I’m a busy girl. I do well with other cats, I quite enjoy the attention of children, and I could even learn to love a dog or two if you’re interested in mixing it up. 

I am a supervisor by nature, a touch more ‘cerebral’ perhaps than my ever-moving brother. I will do my best to make sure that your dishes are done to my satisfaction, that you’re not left alone folding laundry or sweeping up. You see, your household chores will be OUR household chores. I will be sure to let you know if I see you slipping on your part of things. 

That’s not to say I can’t relax. I enjoy a good cuddle, with purrs that start as soon as you pick me up. A real snuggle-bug you might say. But I’m not only a lap cat, I need plenty of play to keep me going; I love to chase and pounce, adore a dangling toy, and am certainly not above a good wrestle. Get you a girl who can do both, as they say. 

Listen, I can be a handful and frankly, I don’t think anyone is ready for a solo Ruby experience. Wherever I end up, having another young cat in the home is a MUST. A senior cat simply won’t be able to keep up with me once I get moving. If you’ve a younger cat already, we could be a match made in heaven, but if you don’t, the fine folks at Cheery can certainly help you find a suitable match. I suppose I might recommend my brother Max; I’ve been training him all his life to be the perfect playmate and it would be a shame to let that work go to waste. 

Currently, I am eating Ziwi Peak dryfood and Orjien chicken and duck wet. No dietary restrictions or issues to speak of, so I am happy to consider other food options if you present them, but best to do it slowly. Patience, quality, and Probiotics can make all of the difference.

Hi I’m Latte, brother of Matcha. I’m the stripey boy.

My rescue story starts when a cleaner found us in an empty apartment after our first family had moved out. We’re not sure how they managed to forget to pack us, but we have practiced our voices to make sure that we are never forgotten again. 

I am the braver one, a stripey and chatty boy who is always down for a cuddle and entirely willing to let you know when the cuddling has been insufficient. 

I took a little bit to warm up to the cats and people in Cheery Palace, but the rescue volunteers I am doing very well! I get along with other cats, even if I can be slow to join in the play at times; I wouldn’t make too much trouble for a senior cat if you’ve got one in the house. I have done well with children as long as they are respectful and patient with me. I don’t think I’ve met a dog yet so as long as the introduction is careful and slow there shouldn’t be an issue. 

My diet currently consists of  Ziwi Peak dryfood and Orjien chicken and duck wet, but I have no dietary restrictions and so I could adjust to almost anything. I don’t particularly care for the Orjien Chicken and Duck so I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to switching it up! But of course, a slow switch over is recommended to keep tummies happy. 

The folks at Cheery Rescue promised my forever family will find me soon. I would need to be adopted into a home with another young playful cat.

I’m a little quieter, but has a soft and rumbly purr like you wouldn’t believe. Of the two of us, Latte is more likely to pop in to check up on you, and I’m the happiest to be carried about.

I get along with other cats, even if I can be slow to join in the play at times; I wouldn’t make too much trouble for a senior cat if you’ve got one in the house. Oh. I didn’t realize we were doing this today! I’m not ready, I… No it’s okay, that’s the old Munchy, New Munchy has this down. I’ll do my best!

I came into Cheery Cat Rescue care as an owner surrender; the cats at my previous home were pretty rough with me and I wasn’t having a good time. Problems are a lot harder to fix than to prevent; I’ll tell you, slow and steady is definitely the way to go. 

My first days in Cheery Palace were pretty scary. Despite the care the staff there took, having so many new cats around was quite overwhelming, and it took some time before I realized that the cats here are all here looking for a better life; I felt a lot less alone knowing that I wasn’t the only ‘misfit’ in the cat world. I can’t lie, I am an awkward fellow; I wouldn’t do well with a particularly dominating or forceful cat. I’m learning how to be more confident, but I’m not ready to be tested quite that hard. A young cat looking for a playmate would be a good fit, or a dual adoption with one of my friends in Cheery Palace would be incredible! I would be very anxious as a solo act so a home with another young cat is a must.

I have also really enjoyed the people who come to see us. I was hesitant at first, but there was a delightful young lady who held me tight and really taught me the joys of a great cuddle. I can be a bit slow to ask for one, I don’t want to be too much trouble, but if you scoop me up and hold me close I will share my biggest purrs with you. A patient home where my boundaries can be respected and expanded would be a dream come true. 

In the palace at the moment, we are eating Ziwi Peak dryfood  and Orjien Duck and Chicken wet. I know some of the other cats have complained, but I’ve got to say it’s a diet that has been working well for me. That said, I have no dietary restrictions so I am open to exploring other options as long as we go slow and supplement with a supportive probiotic. 

I know I can seem like a bit of an odd duck, but I am hoping that for the right person, I am their… what’s a baby swan called? A cygnet? You see because there is a story that.. Not important, we can talk about that later.
