My name is Flower and I am a ‘Spring’ girl as you can see, so I know a thing about a busy house. When Cheery Cat Rescue found us, my newborn kittens and I were among the more than 40 cats in the house. If you don’t mind my saying, that’s simply too many cats, no matter the space.

My six kittens and I were taken into foster care and for the first time in my short life I knew a little bit of peace. I think I was a good mom, if you’ll pardon me for saying so, at only 8 months old I tried my best at least. Now that they are weaned and big enough to explore the world without me I am comforted to know that they have CCR to take care of them and to make sure they will find homes full of love. For my part, I suppose I have to learn what it takes to love myself.

I’ve never been a particularly outspoken cat; when there were 40 of us, there wasn’t much time for individual attention, but Cheery has been teaching me to trust that a place of love is a place that celebrates your voice. I am quick with a purr and love to be pet and treasured. When I feel really safe, I have a squeekly little meow that I will save just for you.

I have experience with other cats, but I can be hesitant to interact unless I feel comfortable and safe. I could learn and grow into life with another young cat, but I would also do well with a quiet senior, or even as a solo cat; a secure place to grow and the love to support it is what I have been searching for my whole life. I have never met a dog, but a gentle friend I can imagine doing very well with, if the introduction is careful and slow. Kind children I think I would love, I have been a mother and I don’t know if you ever truly forget.

I have been doing well on Ziwi Peak dry food and Fancy Feast wet. I can be a little particular and have struggled to change to other wet foods while in the rescue’s care. You are welcome to try to change things, I have no medical dietary restrictions, but I promise nothing.

The ten short months of my life have been full of things done on behalf of others in situations I did not choose, adapting always to benefit others. It is my hope that the rest of them will be spent with people willing to make space for me; I am ready to be someone’s priority and to bloom, finally, for myself.

Hi! I’m April. Like the month, except I don’t vacillate between warm and cool. I’m proudly a friendly, playful girl regardless of the season.

I came to CCR from a house with a lot of cats. Like SO many. I’m not really a math girlie, but there was at least 10 of us there (Editor’s note, it was more than 40. We were very busy). Anywho, I was so excited when CCR came and scooped us up! We got to go to the vet and they were SO nice there; turns out there’s more to life than being a mum

It’s taken me a little bit longer than average to warm up to life in the Palace, I was a little nervous to suddenly be around so many cats again after the peaceful time with my foster. I am coming around to the benefits of having friends to play with and plenty of people to cuddle with, but I confess I am looking forward to a home with a little more stability and a little less traffic.  A cozy perch to watch the snow fall and loving people to watch it with.

As I said, I came from a house with a lot of cats so I definitely know to mind my P’s and Q’s, but I would appreciate your help in making it a slow and careful introduction; too much too fast and I get flashbacks of my early days and can be a little hissy. That said, I’m not adverse to a little chaos. I like to watch before I get involved, but definitely want to be included. When I get going I can push boundaries a little bit so I absolutely need a partner in crime, and would probably be a bit too much for a senior cat to handle solo. I wasn’t raised with dogs, but I’m sure I could handle almost anything with you by my side. Even kids, if it comes to it, ideally respectful and cat-savvy, but I’m a patient young lady so we can probably teach them together if it comes to in.

Currently, I am eating Ziwi Peak Dry and Orjien wet and have been doing quite well on the diet. I’m open to changing it up if we go slow and it would definitely be nice to have a probiotic in the mix. Otherwise, I have no dietary issues or restrictions.

If you come to visit me at Cheery, you’ll probably find me in the relative peace of the Garden Room. If you’re ready for a springtime girl, I’m ready to be your forever.

So I guess there’s some “drama” amongst some of the other Palace Cats, something about who was first for this or that. Frankly, I simply don’t have the time for such silliness; I’m looking for forever, that’s all the drama I need.

My name is Meadow, I am a sweet girl with a big heart and more love than I know what to do with. Whatever you’ve got going on, I want to be involved in. If you’ve got business, then I’ve got business. If it’s your bedtime then it’s my bedtime, I’m going to be right there with you. I’ve been called a Cat’s Cat, and that’s not untrue, but I will absolutely let you know when I need some lap time.

I came from a house with a LOT of other cats. The person looking after us took my Grandmother in a few years ago, and I guess that somehow led to a sizable crowd over time. The details escape me, something, something, “40+ cats”; honestly, it’s just nice to get a little bit of peace and quiet. It’s been a learning curve to figure out how to exist in a place where I’m not competing with 39 family members for affection, but I promise when it’s just us I will show you how I shine.

I do well with other cats, but a patient and careful introduction would be nice to make sure that we are all feeling comfortable. I definitely need to have another young cat in the house; an oldtimer probably couldn’t keep up if they had to do it solo. I have less experience with dogs, but I like to keep my options open so I won’t rule it out as long as you’re there to help me through it. Kids? I can handle kids, but I appreciate them best when they are well trained.

I have been enjoying a diet of Ziwi Peak dry and Orjien wet, and while I am not restricted to those, I have no dietary restrictions to speak of, a slow transition and a run of probiotic would be very helpful in making sure no tummies are upset.

I’ve been through a lot in my rather short time, and I’m hoping if I find my people we can go through the rest together.

My name is Max, and I have the honor of being the star of the very first Cheery Rescue Profile. I’m watching carefully to make sure the volunteer ghost-writer gets it all down properly; I like my staff properly trained.

Some background about me, my sister Ruby and I came into Cherry Cat Rescue’s care when a good samaritan took in our pregnant mother and soon found themselves with more cats than they could handle. But those early weeks in a busy home is good news for you, dear reader. I’m as bombproof as they come; I’m good with cats, I’m great with kids, and while I haven’t met a dog yet, I would gladly take the opportunity.

I come with two modes, ‘Play’ and ‘Cuddle’ and I am very dedicated to my craft. I don’t need to be the center of attention at all times, I am happy to play with a toy or sneak in a wrestling match, but I do deserve to be, and I will happily shadow you about the house to let you know about the show you’re missing.

You see, I don’t waste a lot of time ‘considering’, Ruby has always been the ‘brains of the outfit’, but by gum, I am a DO-er and I want to be involved in whatever you have going on. I am also an excellent sounding board and am always down for a good chat. Or a bad chat. Spill the tea, Queen, I’m listening.

Something important to keep in mind is that I will need another young cat wherever I end up. My high energy antics would definitely be a bit too much for an older cat to tackle solo; if you’ve a younger cat at home already I would be thrilled to meet them, or if you need to look at bringing in two of us, my sister Ruby would be an excellent choice. Our playfights are legendarily entertaining.

I am currently enjoying a diet of Ziwi Peak dryfood and Orjien chicken and duck wet. I have no dietary restrictions so I am open to changing it up, but a slow changeover and some supportive probiotics would really help to smooth the transition.

SO that’s me, but I would love to hear more about you.  Click the link and fill out an application and maybe together we can make our perfect match.

Ruby Wells

Ruby Wells – Adopted

Age: 6 months

My name is Ruby, and unlike my brother I’m not in a rush; he might be the first profile up, but mine will be the best. Patience and quality go paw in paw.

My brother Max and I came into Cheery Cat Rescue’s care after the kind woman who took our mother in discovered that she had been hoodwinked by more cats than she bargained for. Our first few weeks were busy ones, but luckily I’m a busy girl. I do well with other cats, I quite enjoy the attention of children, and I could even learn to love a dog or two if you’re interested in mixing it up.

I am a supervisor by nature, a touch more ‘cerebral’ perhaps than my ever-moving brother. I will do my best to make sure that your dishes are done to my satisfaction, that you’re not left alone folding laundry or sweeping up. You see, your household chores will be OUR household chores. I will be sure to let you know if I see you slipping on your part of things.

That’s not to say I can’t relax. I enjoy a good cuddle, with purrs that start as soon as you pick me up. A real snuggle-bug you might say. But I’m not only a lap cat, I need plenty of play to keep me going; I love to chase and pounce, adore a dangling toy, and am certainly not above a good wrestle. Get you a girl who can do both, as they say.

Listen, I can be a handful and frankly, I don’t think anyone is ready for a solo Ruby experience. Wherever I end up, having another young cat in the home is a MUST. A senior cat simply won’t be able to keep up with me once I get moving. If you’ve a younger cat already, we could be a match made in heaven, but if you don’t, the fine folks at Cheery can certainly help you find a suitable match. I suppose I might recommend my brother Max; I’ve been training him all his life to be the perfect playmate and it would be a shame to let that work go to waste.

Currently, I am eating Ziwi Peak dryfood and Orjien chicken and duck wet. No dietary restrictions or issues to speak of, so I am happy to consider other food options if you present them, but best to do it slowly. Patience, quality, and Probiotics can make all of the difference.

You’ve made it to the end so I suppose you pass my first test. Put in an application and let’s see if we can make it a Cheery forever.

Oh. I didn’t realize we were doing this today! I’m not ready, I… No it’s okay, that’s the old Munchy, New Munchy has this down. I’ll do my best!

I came into Cheery Cat Rescue care as an owner surrender; the cats at my previous home were pretty rough with me and I wasn’t having a good time. Problems are a lot harder to fix than to prevent; I’ll tell you, slow and steady is definitely the way to go.

My first days in Cheery Palace were pretty scary. Despite the care the staff there took, having so many new cats around was quite overwhelming, and it took some time before I realized that the cats here are all here looking for a better life; I felt a lot less alone knowing that I wasn’t the only ‘misfit’ in the cat world. I can’t lie, I am an awkward fellow; I wouldn’t do well with a particularly dominating or forceful cat. I’m learning how to be more confident, but I’m not ready to be tested quite that hard. A young cat looking for a playmate would be a good fit, or a dual adoption with one of my friends in Cheery Palace would be incredible! I would be very anxious as a solo act so a home with another young cat is a must.

I have also really enjoyed the people who come to see us. I was hesitant at first, but there was a delightful young lady who held me tight and really taught me the joys of a great cuddle. I can be a bit slow to ask for one, I don’t want to be too much trouble, but if you scoop me up and hold me close I will share my biggest purrs with you. A patient home where my boundaries can be respected and expanded would be a dream come true.

In the palace at the moment, we are eating Ziwi Peak dryfood  and Orjien Duck and Chicken wet. I know some of the other cats have complained, but I’ve got to say it’s a diet that has been working well for me. That said, I have no dietary restrictions so I am open to exploring other options as long as we go slow and supplement with a supportive probiotic.

I know I can seem like a bit of an odd duck, but I am hoping that for the right person, I am their… what’s a baby swan called? A cygnet? You see because there is a story that.. Not important, we can talk about that later.

It seems we’re doing interviews, ‘Adoption Profiles’ is it? Very well, I’ll answer your questions, just make sure you get my good side for the pictures. My name is Ming and I am an absolute treasure… Also, I don’t have a bad side; just a little joke between friends.

I came into Cheery Rescue as a “sibling duo” after Moon and I were scooped up by a concerned citizen. Family we may be, but 6 months is a long time on the calendar of a street cat. Half-brother, maybe?  But I wouldn’t worry about it. Frankly, I’ve put the family drama behind me, this girl is looking to the future.

It took me a minute to get my bearings in Cheery Palace; it was the first time in my life that I’ve had roommates, as you can imagine,  it was a little overwhelming. Luckily, the cats all seemed pretty friendly and there were a string of absolutely delightful people telling me how beautiful, how soft, and how elegant I am. They are absolutely correct, but while I am glad to have such astute fans, even a stunner like myself longs to relax and let her hair down, so to speak.

You see, deep down, I’m a couch cat. Movie night? Girl, I am so there. Big game? Absolutely, get me a jersey and we’ll make their playoff run! Cat business is high-stakes and stressful; after a long day of chasing sunbeams, and emptying food dishes,  I want to unwind. You, me, sofa, cuddle time.

It should be noted that despite my enjoyment of a snooze, I am an active young lady. I know to mind my P’s and Q’s around older cats in the home, but having a young playmate in the home is a must if you want to see me at my most vibrant; Cheery Rescue volunteers can suggest someone if you don’t have anyone else in mind. I am a gentle girl and would do alright with young children, as long as they are careful and respectful. Dogs I am a bit more on the fence about, but with a calm dog and a careful introduction… I could imagine that being alright. As long as they understand how to be gentle, perhaps we might be good friends indeed.

At the moment, I am eating Ziwi Peak dryfood  and Orjien Duck and Chicken wet. I enjoy them well enough, but I have no dietary restrictions and so I am willing to expand my culinary horizons as long as we take it slow and include a helpful probiotic to keep my tummy happy.

I know that my many admirers will be sad to see me go, but I am ready for my domestic bliss. Would you be my forever?

Hello, my name is Moon, and I hope you bear with me, I’ve never had to dictate an adoption profile before, but the Cheery volunteer has promised to help me out so here it goes!

I guess some background information first? Cheery Cat Rescue was contacted about me and my ‘sister’ after a concerned citizen took us in. Upon examination the vet wasn’t so sure we were siblings given that she was half my age, but cat colony family trees can get a little complicated, so who’s to say really? Regardless, Ming went on to the Cheery Cat Palace and Adoption Lounge, but I was a little more nervous and so stayed with my foster.

It can take me a little while to get used to new situations and people. I know my big cheeks must make me look really tough, but I’m a softie, outside and in. When I first came into care I did my best to hide, but once I learned that my foster was there to help I made sure to let him know how much I appreciate it. They call me ‘chatty’ but I think it’s important to show gratitude whenever possible and I will gladly follow you around the house to let you know how much I appreciate you.

I love to hang out, if you’re lounging then I’m lounging. But, like, a little bit away. I would hate to impose… you know how it is. I want to be sure to respect your space, even if the pets are nice, and your lap looks so inviting… maybe we could work on that.

I’m a big lad, but you should see how fast I go when I really get to zooming! I can still play with the best of them and I would love to show off my moves! A house with another young cat would be an excellent choice so we can play together, but with a person as committed to playtime as I am, I could be convinced to settle down solo. I haven’t had a ton of experience with children but I have heard that they can be taught to be polite and gentle so I could see that being alright. Dogs I’m really not sure about, but if we take it slow I could see myself adapting well to a well behaved pooch or two.

Currently, I am eating Ziwi Peak dryfood and Fancy Feast wet, but I have no known tummy troubles and so I could see changing that in the future. A nice slow change and some probiotic to keep things steady would be the ideal situation for me, I think.

I guess that’s everything, at least that’s everything I can think of immediately. I’ll ponder it a while longer and if you apply, I will make sure to update you when we meet!
